Know More

Approximately one of every 100 babies is born with a congenital heart defect.  This is the most common birth defect in the world.  Each year approximately 40,000 babies are born in the United States with a congenital heart defect.  More than 4,000 will not reach their first birthday. Thousands more die before they reach adulthood.

1in100 was founded on the principal that only a small percentage of Americans know how many babies and children are affected by congenital heart defects/disease.  1in100 serves as a banner – a campaign – for parents, patient advocates, physicians and and their circles of influence to generate awareness and action toward eradicating heart disease in children – while helping children and families dealing with CHD.
